Biography

Hi! Welcome to Cotton, Cashmere and Wool! My name is Deanna and I am located in western Colorado. Within the last year I have become more and more dedicated to my knitting, crafting, style and living a DIY lifestyle. I am currently teaching myself to sew! This blog is my space to share my style and outfits, crafting adventures, creative inspirations and love of all things knitting and yarn with you. My favorite yarns to knit with are cotton, cashmere and wool, thus my blog name.

I first learned to knit when I was very young, in middle school. I can remember sitting on the couch with my Grandmother as she taught me how to knit. I immediately fell in love with the craft and proceeded to secretly make my first project, a scarf, for my mom as a surprise gift. My knitting has come a long way from unknown dropped stitches and random increases and decreases to completing fully intact hats, scarves and accessories for friends and family. I am currently working on revamping my Etsy shop, Mountain Knitwear, with pieces that I love to knit and you, hopefully, love to wear! Check it out at Www.MountainKnitwear.com. Knitting will always be my first crafting love.

I have recently been branching out to other crafts that call to me. I think it is almost time for me to learn to crochet, but first I am gung-ho about learning to sew! My mom gave me her old sewing machine, a Husqvarna Viking. I love saying that word-Husqvarna. And I recently moved to a new apartment that needs to be decorated. Home décor and decorating is a whole new ball game for me so any tips and advice are appreciated!

I also have a healthy affinity towards earrings. I can justify almost any earring purchase!

I’m so glad you’re here! Be sure to say hi at CottonCashmereandWool@gmail.com. Grab some knitting needles or your respective craft and let’s hang out!
